The state government has decided to provide sanitation, accommodation and transportation for pilgrims visiting the AmbubachiMela at Kamakhya temple in the city free of cost. With the tourism department as the nodal department, the state government has chalked out plans to provide accommodation to the pilgrims coming to Ambubachi festival that will start on June 22 and conclude on June 28. Ambubachi is the biggest festival celebrated at Kamakhya temple, which is thronged by pilgrims, including foreigners. The rush has gone up in the past two years.
