I know there was a lot more to see but we were just passing love to come back and stay a few days and explore.... Childers is a pretty little town on the Bruce highway about 3. 5 hours north of Brisbane and about 30 minutes from Bundaberg. It is a classic old sugar town with rich red soil and is still largely involved in sugar with avocados and other crops as well. There are 3 old pubs, a bowls club, an RSL and a few backpacker places to cater for travellers either overnight using it as a base to explore the local area.
