The place is really run down. The two above ground swimming pools were empty one had dirty water at the bottom the other leaves. Totally unusable. The camp barbecues were rusted and in poor condition. No lighting around the camp ground. We had an unpowered site for $168. 00. (With power extra $60 wk) Bargain considering we had unlimited hot water, drinking water and toilet less then 50 mtrs. We also had full access to a washing machine the owner let me use for free. The shop was very handy for daily ice creams and items I forgot or ran out of. From insect coils to ice, bread, meat (that was to die for! ) etc The owner is getting elderly but has done a great job keeping the park tidy with plenty of green grass for kids to kick a ball around and play. The bonus of staying right in park is saving of fuel cost not travelling daily to explore park from Batchelor or other parks outside of park.

5 kilometres through lush bush along the Tabletop Track. Along the way, you'll take in the beauty of Wangi Falls and make your way to Walter Creek in the heart of Litchfield National Park. As you go, you'll be exposed to mesmerising views across escarpment country, where the landscape is made up of rocky formations and ancient ridges filled with native wildlife and colourful plants. Keep your eyes peeled for critters like quolls, wallabies, frogs, and lizards, as well as birds including kingfishers, red-winged parrots, and double-bar finches. From the escarpment itself, you'll cross fairytale patches of open woodland, and cross creeks that date back thousands of years. At night, you can camp at Tjenya Falls beneath the stars and prepare for your next day of adventures. The walk is a fairly difficult one, so only able travellers are able to walk it. However, if you still want to explore the region, you can take the return 1. 5 kilometre walk that starts at Wangi Plunge Pool. From there, you climb up to the top of the escarpment and take a leisurely stroll back down to the base for a picnic, a barbecue, or a swim.

Not a swimmer in sight after a thunderstorm passes over Wangi Falls Wangi Falls is a popular picnic and swimming destination with good facilities and spectacular bush walks. During the dry season it can even be a bit crowded as people come from Darwin to swim in it's cool waters. Now while Litchfield Park is a tourist mecca in the dry season, it can be very different in the wet season. Sometimes roads are cut by heavy rain and sometimes swimming is closed by torrents of water that make water holes dangerous. This year my wife and I decided to show a friend around the park on New Years day, making it my first visit in the wet season. While there have been localised thunderstorms, the monsoon rains hadn't kicked in so there was a good chance at least the roads would be open.
Even with a tropical low developing over us the tent kept us dry and safe! The shop had all the supplies we needed and eftpos. We were not able to get through flooded bridges for 2 days but we still were able to visit the falls and explore. In fact we had the whole park pretty much to ourselves! Again the elderly owner Donny made sure we were happy and comfortable! The bonus on top of everything was the local helicopter tour company leaves the chopper at the camp also overngt and the pilot is based here also. He offered us a awesome offer for us to go flying!
