Chris Sununu (R) is expected to sign a bill in the coming weeks that would ban discrimination in the state based on gender identity. The New Hampshire Union Leader reported that the Republican-controlled state Senate passed the legislation last week. The bill would make it illegal to discriminate against transgender people in matters of housing, employment and public accommodations. "These laws are necessary because of the pervasive discrimination that transgender people face at work, at home and in public. I'm not transgender, but 10, 20 years ago, I experienced these discriminations, " said state Sen. Dan Innis (R), who is gay. The law will go into effect 30 days after Sununu signs it. The public accommodations provision drew some pushback from Republican lawmakers. That part of the law provides protections for transgender people to use the bathroom that corresponds with their gender identity. "I believe that other people have an interest here, a privacy right that this bill is going to infringe on, " state Sen. William Gannon (R) told the Union Leader.

First off, this place is called Beach Haven Apartments, not Beach Haven Motel. I booked this room through Century 21 Foreshore 2 Farms, the main real estate company of Sawtell. From beginning to end this booking and stay was a pleasure. I arrived on a Sunday so they organised a way for me to get my keys and gave clear instructions meaning I found the keys easily. The room was about 50% cheaper than the next available option in the area, and from the photo's one can see how much value there was. I arrived and received a welcome pack waiting for me with brand new dish washing cloths, soap, dish washing liquid, a percolator for coffee, chilled water - all the basics. The apartment building is definitely a but run down which makes you wonder about the safety of staying there but once inside the room you forget about that. A cab driver in the area also told me that there hasn't been an incident in Sawtell in 12 years. They give everyone a relatively spacious private cabin, but space above decks was very limited. The Sea Gipsy is completely the opposite. The space on the top deck is huge. I'm estimating 16 feet by 30 feet. There is a generous dining area, and lots of space for the plenty of deck lounge chairs, which are scattered about. This is really what you want. During the day your cabin space is irrelevant. What you really want is a great place to watch the ocean and islands go by as the boat cruises along..... And this boat has it. Food on the boat is plentiful and really good. We had ridden motorcycles all over Myanmar before getting on the boat. The crew came up with some of the best versions of common Burmese food we had tasted anywhere in the country. Another reviewer complained about food coming out of the freezer. Hmmmm? Our experience was that it came from the passing fishing boats..... A second review did say that beverages were limited to beer and soft drinks. That is accurate. If your drink is gin & tonic or rum & coke be sure to bring your own.
