Situated between Umag and Porec on the Istrian coastline, Novigrad is a small but picturesque little town, well known for its clean sea waters. Quieter than some of the other Istrian resorts, it may be best suited to those wanting a more peaceful way of life, although it still has a number of sights for those looking for a bit of culture. Accommodation in Novigrad is largely focused on the small cluster of three and four star hotels in and around town, although there's also some private accommodation options available as well. The town also has a number of campsites nearby, so is a great Istrian location for those looking for a camping holiday. An example from my own life: [Update added below, Sunday morning 2/28/2021] I loaned my guest bed to a neighbor I used to have a big crush on, til I realized he's a N. He had just moved into a new apartment in our building and didn't have ANY furniture. He is now done with the bed, but didn't make any move to return it to me. I had to contact him. As is typical of him, which I now realize, my efforts to set a day/time when he can return my furniture are being met with evasiveness. This is his response when I tell him that I need to arrange getting it back from him: "I'll return it to you this weekend. I'll let you know when I'm home and whether the time works for you. " Now, on the surface this text sounds cooperative, but it's really not. This is what he is really saying: "Even though you were kind enough to loan me this bed, I do not consider getting it back to you to be a priority for me.
Wherever I have fished, whether it was for bass, Kingfish in the surf, Queen Mackerel off a boat, Platannas or Tiger fish, my goal has always been to catch as many big ones in as short a time as possible by trying all the fishing techniques I knew and learned from other fishermen, and fishing in as many fishing spots as possible to get a good overall idea of what the fish do, what they eat when, and the best ways to catch a lot. At first, fishing for Tiger fish at Jozini Dam was a very frustrating experience! As always, I spoke to fishermen in the area, some swore by bait and livebait fishing for Jozini Tiger fish and others preferred trolling Rapalas for Tiger fish. I tried every method I had heard of to catch tiger fish in Jozini, and a few more. I even put out some whole sards on Couta rigs, trolled them fast and slow, and drifted them for Tiger fish. I tried every lure and spoon in my boxes on a variety of tackle, some which I tied up myself. I have tried fly fishing, spinning, spooning and have been tempted on many occasions to use a spear gun and dynamite to get my hands on a Tiger fish in Jozini!
