Not taking a vehicle? Wightlink operate a high-speed Catamaran for foot passengers only, which runs from Portsmouth to Ryde and takes just 20-minutes to reach the island. Once you've reached the Isle of Wight, hop on the bus or grab a taxi to make your way to Woodside Bay and Woodside Coastal. Red Funnel operate the ferry service running between Southampton and East Cowes, on the east side of the island. The ferry takes cars, bikes, foot passengers and motor homes, and the journey takes around 60 minutes, with services running 24 hours each day. From East Cowes, it is a 20-minute onward journey to Woodside Bay and Woodside Coastal. Red Funnel also operate a foot passenger service which runs from Southampton to West Cowes and takes around 25 minutes. For a more unique journey, you can also travel by hovercraft with Hovertravel services. This is a foot passenger service and takes just 10 minutes, running between Portsmouth and Ryde. We booked the garden view cottage which was a 2 bedroom unit. It was self contained with washing mc dryer, dishwasher etc. Pros: very clean modern beds were comfy unit was spacious The village had a games room, swimming pool, park-play for kids, bike carts which really added to the experience. Staff was very helpful. cons: Miserly amount of tea / coffee / sugar satchels. No milk. Not even the little packs of long life milk. This was the first place EVER that I have come across which did not provide milk for guests. Reception said I will have to buy it from them or go to the super market to buy it!!! SERIOUSLY! Sugar was so less, we were rationing it by the end of the stay. Had we known, we would have brought our own supplies. No salt/pepper. The reception was kind to arrange this for us. But again, sugar, salt, milk, tea, coffee are basic. How much money is BIG4 going to save by not providing them? Swimming pool was solar heated. what's the point of having a heater when it only works when it is hot outside and is of no use when it is cold?

Excellent place.. untouched and of like virgin beaches which has white powder like sand and clear green blue water and corals are found in abundance here.... some beaches have sea life active on the are a usuall sight so are snails and small fish on the shores are common. I felt that she was respecting our privacy, however, we were told how to get in touch if anything was wrong. The room was very pleasant, and very clean with a little kitchenette area with a microwave and small fridge, plates and glasses if you had wanted to eat a meal there. We used it to make a sugar free breakfast which we struggled to find in other hotels. Free Wifi. It is a pleasant short walk to Jasper town centre and there is parking outside the door. There is one other room on the basement floor for rent but we never heard those people. I would certainly recommend this place to friends. It had to be the top value for money accomodation we had in Canada and had better facilities than some hotels/motels we paid a lot more for.
